..The Impenetrable Horde...
...Swarm tactics for the infantry rush general!...
The Brain (Special Character)
The Brain is a mutation of the
basic genus, an incredible being of enormous psychic potential. It was
the Brain who originally sent the Clones against the forces of mankind,
and it is the Brain who still commands them now, each and every one
instantly receiving his command through his awesome psychic messaging.
Somehow, the Brain has sustained his own life a great many thousands of
years, although the aeons have taken their toll, with the vast majority
of body parts being replaced by mechanical substitutions, amalgamations
of metal and bone.
Battle Standard Bearer
Bearers of great banners or
standards often lead the Clone hordes to battle, aiding in the control
of the baying horde and causing them to fight with greater furore than
normal. However, due to the weight of the banner itself, the Standard
Bearer is completely unarmed, unable to defend itself from enemy fire or
melee attacks.
Lights
Lights are armed solely with
melee weaponry and a pistol. They are the cheapest infantry to produce
and are fast on their feet. They operate best in enormous groups
supported by mobile firing troops.
Grunts
Grunts are the basic Clone
Soldier, armed with a violent sub-machine gun, allowing them to fire on
the move, but nothing more. They operate in extremely large groups and
can be quickly and cheaply produced en mass, able to give excellent
support to large units of Lights, especially when combined in formation.
Grenadiers
Grenadiers are similar to
Lights; however they exchange their pistol for a brutal lobbed explosive
charge, used to blow small holes in enemy formations. They are also
equally explosive on their own lines, so it can often be best to deploy
Grenadiers only when they’re not facing enemies with flaming or
explosive weapons.
Brutes
Brutes are mutations of the
David Strain, caused by an unknown biological effect solely on Home
world. Brutes are abnormally large, muscular biological constructs that
are sent into combat unarmed. They can cause terrific damage when
allowed into close combat, but are otherwise unarmed and unarmoured.
Heavies
Heavies are armoured Clones,
equipped with rudimentary heavy armour. Their additional resistance to
firepower makes them a match for the more basic soldiers of the Human
force, especially considering they can be easily produced en mass.
Combining them into other units can greatly increase the morale of the
unit, and also add increased resilience to enemy fire.
Marauders
Marauders are regular Clone
troops, armed with devastating long rifles. In such large numbers as
they are usually wielded, and combined with other infantry units,
Marauders can deploy their rifles with devastating effects at a long
enough range for them to pick apart Human defence lines.
Rocketeer Light
Lights equipped with
death-defying rocket packs can travel at awesome speed towards enemy
lines, where they can deploy their pistols and combat knives with
greater efficiency due to the greater number of surviving attackers.
Lights with rocket packs are still as vulnerable as normal lights mind,
and with the added possibility of having them explode violently can
outweigh the advantages presented by their speed. They can also be
ordered to self destruct on command, dealing tremendous damage to enemy
lines.
Rocketeer Grunt
Rocketeer Grunts are the same as
normal Grunts, save that they are also equipped with a death-defying
crude jump pack, allowing them to travel at extremely high speed, akin
to a Rocketeer Light. These Grunts can launch a veritable torrent of
firepower when in range with their machine guns. Rocketeer Grunts are
subject to the same explosive properties as Lights, allowing them to
explode violently on command.
Serpent Riders
Serpent Riders are heavily
armoured soldiers, equipped with a long ranged powerful Rifle, as well
as devastating Lances and Broadswords. Their steeds can carry them
rapidly over rough terrain towards the enemy and take a lot of damage.
Note that the explosive tipped lances are only effective on the initial
charge, and are dropped during a melee. Fresh lances are drawn before a
fresh charge is made.
Plasma Trooper
Clones armed with Plasma Cannons
make for brutal short range storm troopers. They are very low in cost
and can be easily produced en mass for a devastating addition to the
swarm. Plasma Troopers are fairly rare, but combined with other infantry
units can be invaluable, as their weapons will chew through the heaviest
armoured foes with ease.
Pistoliers
Pistoliers are Clones armed with
brutal three foot pistols, which project enormous lead slugs at high
velocity, tearing through entire ranks of foes with single shots.
Pistoliers are very vulnerable alone, and are best combined into units,
where they can bring their awesome firepower to bear.
Power Armour
Clones in Power Armour provide
faster moving more mobile firepower, unlike the UNDH troopers, who
prefer to remain stationary when deploying their weapons. Armed with
brutal short ranged shotguns, Power Armoured troops pour forwards
absorbing firepower that would otherwise decimate regular Clones,
allowing many troops to enter combat intact. However, Power Armour is
rare, and generally fielded in very small units.
Bone Chariot
The Bone Chariot is a whirling
plethora of spikes and blades, designed specifically to hurtle headlong
into enemy formations, mowing down infantry with ease, allowing troops
following in its wake to eliminate entire defence lines quickly and
efficiently. The Bone Chariot is extremely resilient to fire, making it
an invaluable tool when on the offensive.
Savage Beast
Savage Beasts are monstrous
tracked vehicles, designed to terrify the foe as much as they are to
destroy it. Savage Beasts are slow, but their heavy armour and awesome
firepower more than makes up for this drawback. Savage Beasts can deploy
a great deal of firepower from its multiple missile launchers and heavy
machine guns, but it can also tear apart enemy war machines and
structures with its two blade fashioned attacking arms.
Flayer Casket
Flayer Caskets are remarkably
cheap and fast aerial vehicles, although they are extremely vulnerable
to fire. Flayer Caskets have only one form of attack – to explode over
the target in a shower of metal and crystal shards, rending flesh from
the bone of any target that falls to its indiscriminate attack.
